Help. my kitty has tapeworm, im concerned.?

i found out that my cat has tapeworm, he is being treated by the vet, and has also een treated for fleas., my concern is,can i get this, ive heard ingesting fleas is the only way, but what if I somehow, eat one of those , "eggs", the rice looking things....i have found it on the furniture, even in my own bed. HE IS NO LONGER ALOUD IN THE BEDROOM, til, im sure hes worm free. so whats my risk, should i see a doc???
