How do you stop your dog from digging in your garden?

Today is such a sunny day and so we are sun bathing in my back yard and we have let my dog out. He is 9 months old he is called Ollie and he is a English springer spaniel. I now their breed is very energtic but how can i stop him from digging holes everyone in the gr in my back garden? Please help me!
