Question to Jews about Gentiles unable to join the Covenant at Sinai ?

How did God deal with Gentiles in the afterlife in Old Testament times? I'm specifically referring to the ones who could not convert to Judaism because they were too far away to even hear about the Covenant at Sinai, such as the American Indians or Australian Aborigines.
