What is the best way to deter mosquito's. I don't want to use replants?

I have used fabric softener sheets, rub on yourself and carry 1 or 2 with you in your pocket to re-apply. I live in Florida with wet lands across from my home the Gulf in front and a c in the back and have many mosquito's to deal with when cutting the gr and the fabric sheets help.
