On the face of it your question is fair, and it will never happen. Why? Because the US operates on the do as I say, not as I do principle, especially in the last six years. Besides, we have convinced ourselves that we are "the good guys," and therefore it is OK that we got these weapons and few others are allowed to have them. Bush/Cheney have violated the principles of the US and disgraced it on the world stage. Hopefully we can stop them and return our policy to some sort of sanity before we destroy all stability in the Middle East, or worse.
